In the EAP, we have a situation in which the manager is mostly working through the teachers, rather than with them. In other words, she doesn't do any teaching, although she does do other things directly with the students. We have new students coming and going all the time, so it certainly is a changing environment. Five years ago, most of our students were Chinese. Now we have no Chinese students in level 6. Our objective is to help students prepare for and succeed in post-secondary studies. Our main limited resource is time: both the time of the teachers and the amount of time that students can spend studying English. In general, then I think this definition applies here, but the "process" part is not so clear to me.

In my office, the chief of my department works through and work with other members. Specifically, he orders other members to do their jobs and evaluates their accomplishment 2 times a year. Also, he do his own tasks relating to applications of patents and trials. There are many changes in environments surrounding patent offices. The main changes of near future are the opening of law market and the foundation of law schools. Our objectives are to earn much money by providing good service relating to patents. Our resources such as time, money and space are limited. We should complete our work within due date and we should charge reasonable fee and we can use limited space. Therefore, he should consider the balance between efficiency and effectiveness. So, I think this definition applies to my office very well.

There could be many management situations in any offices. But the most common one is when manager working with team lead, rather than with workers and performing the work himself. Therefore, the manager communicates with team lead, which is than works directly with workers. Manager asks for accomplishments of the team lead’s team as well as does the annual review of each of the workers personally. For example, at the beginning of the year manager asks for objectives for each of the worker and during all year helps to achieve that objectives in many different ways like sending worker to the training courses. In overall the definition applies to the situation – manager and team lead.

Management is the process of getting activities completed efficiently and effectively with and through other people.During this process working with and through others is very important because it applies the results.
